Marin County is the birthplace of the mountain bike. Back in the early 1970s, a group of mountain bikers started riding their Klunker paperboy bikes up and down the fire protection roads in the mountains. With the steep, rocky and unforgiving nature of this new terrain, these trailblazers adopted Levi’s® denim as their uniform because of its durability, protection and timeless style. Drawing inspiration from these mountain bike pioneers, our latest collection with New Balance brings durable Levi’s® fabrics to the classic New Balance MT580 silhouette, a nod to mountain biking culture and our neighbors in Marin County.

The newly reissued MT580 brings an icon back to life. The modernized look of a slimmed down toe and reduced collar height is combined with a supportive, cushioned midsole and New Balance’s signature ROLLBAR technology for enhanced support. Inspired by ‘70s mountain bike colors, these MT580 Sneakers were crafted with nubuck upper, overdyed Levi’s® denim on the toe box and side panels and topped off with our signature red tab. Plus, they come with three sets of laces.
